Describe your job:
As part of the Innovation Solutions team, my work is geared at enabling P&G to innovate better compared to our competitors. From an IT perspective, we ensure that our upstream business partners have the most cutting-edge systems to come up with the next big ideas in a fully digitized environment. More specifically, I work with my R&D clients in an area we call Innovation Intelligence across the company to connect and analyze the large amounts of data gathered over the years, turn it into information, then knowledge, using the industry-leading Business Intelligence tools like TIBCO Spotfire, to simply innovate better than the rest.
What made you choose IT at P&G?
I chose IT at P&G because the type of career I was looking for was something not entirely in IT nor entirely in business. I had, and developed, an interest in information systems, but at the same time I knew that I wanted to challenge those skills to come up with innovative solutions in the face of real life business problems. IT at P&G is right at the crossroads between technology and business.
What advice would you give for somebody thinking about a career in IT function?
“If I had an hour to solve a problem, I would spend 55 minutes thinking about the problem and 5 minutes thinking about the solution.” This quote attributed to Einstein has been the most useful piece of advice I’ve received.
In your opinion, which three words best describe the working environment at P&G?
Challenging, diverse, collaborative
